Our History
Ballinderreen Hurling Club, founded in 1884, is one of the oldest clubs in the association. It is a proud hurling parish that has produced many fine hurlers over the years, some of which have played for Galway. First of those was Mick Gill; he holds the record of winning two senior All-Ireland titles in one year. The 1923 All-Ireland Final was played in 1924, where Mick played and won with Galway; he followed by winning the 1924 All-Ireland Final with Dublin.
Ballinderreen had players involved in the victorious teams of 1980 (Joe McDonagh & Noel Lane), 1987 & 1988 (Noel Lane). The club has also produced many quality players who have represented Galway at minor and under-21 levels. One of the club’s finest hours was when the late Joe McDonagh was elected president of the GAA association in 1997 and served until 2000.

Is é Club CLG Iomana Bhaile an Doirín, a bunaíodh i 1884, ceann de na clubanna is sine sa chomhlachas. Is paróiste iomána bródúil í a thóg go leor iománaithe den ard chaighdeán thar na blianta do fhoireann na Gaillimhe. Ar nósMick Gill; Tá taifead aige mar go bhuaigh se ar dhá theideal Uile-Éireann in aon bhliain amháin. Rinneadh sé é Deireadh Fómhair 1923 arís i 1924, áit a raibh Mick ag imirt ar chúl agus bhuaigh se arís le Gaillimh; lean sé ar aghaidh agus bhuaigh sé bhonn Uile-Éireann i 1924 le Baile Átha Cliath.
Bhí imreoirí ag Ballinderreen i bhfoirne buaiteacha 1980 (Joe McDonagh & Noel Lane) 1987 & 1988 (Noel Lane). Chomh maith leis sin, chuir an club go leor imreoirí ar ardchaighdeán a léirigh ionadaíocht ar Ghaillimh ag leibhéal Sinsir agus faoi bhun 21. Ceann de na huaireanta is fearr a bhí ag an gclub nuair a toghadh an tUasal Joe McDonagh ina uachtarán ar Chumann CLG i 1997 agus d’fhan se ann go dtí 2000.
